Why do I Blog? Start Reading Here
Hi there
I aim to write around 4-6 posts each week with up to date information about environmental management, news and development.
I am originally a scientist (marine biologist) but for the past 20 years I have combined environmental consulting with business management, quality assurance and fully integrated management systems based on keeping it simple so that the systems work sustainably to HELP the business be more efficient, not bury them in unnecessary paper like so many inexperienced consultants do.
I have changed my consultancy model to include a large training and mentoring component because my aim is to transfer skills and understanding to your business so that you become independent of me.
The way I work with businesses helps them to grow and become more profitable and I want to reach many more people so that I can help them run more sustainable businesses and leave a better world for all our grandchildren.
My unusual combination of training and experience leads some people to call me an Enviro Entrepreneur because I have research experience as a marine biologist and 20+ years hands on experience in small to medium business combined with additional qualifications in workplace training and assessment, as a lead auditor in both Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety management systems and quality assurance since the late 1980s. I was “blown away” when I first discovered how effective systems can be in a business so long as you keep them simple and minimize paper!
My philosophy is that by going green you can make more money. This is being environmentally commercial. By looking systematically at what you do in your business you can be both environmentally friendly and reduce your energy costs, increase profits and reduce your risk of not meeting environmental regulations.
I was born in England and moved to Australia at a young age, and settled in South Australia where developed my passion for the environment and the ocean.
I love working with the very wide variety of businesses around the country and overseas and I would dearly love to change the culture and the way many more people think of the environment.
