About
A Little Info about Jean Cannon
Hi, my name is Jean Cannon. I am a scientist, business woman and grandmother. My passion is to help business reduce their costs and become more efficient by managing their environmental and carbon footprint. This helps my grandchildren’s future and helps the business become both more financially and environmentally sustainable.
Go on reading about me below or go straight to the blog entries via the small print tag at the top “Why do I Blog? Start Reading Here” or the latest month in the archives.
I am originally a scientist (marine biologist) but for the past 20 years I have combined environmental consulting with business management, quality assurance and fully integrated management systems based on keeping it simple so that the systems work sustainably to HELP the business be more efficient, not bury them in unnecessary paper like so many inexperienced consultants do.
My consultancy model includes a large training and mentoring component because my aim is to transfer skills and understanding to your business so that you become independent of me.
The way I work with businesses helps them to grow and become more profitable and I want to reach many more people so that I can help them run more sustainable businesses and leave a better world for all our grandchildren.
While I am not entirely comfortable writing about myself as on this page I am often asked to explain “who is Jean Cannon” and why am I qualified to write the information in this blog.
I am also an author helping to spread the word and change people’s ways through my books “Reduce Your Carbon Footprint a simple tool for your home and work”; “Green Your Business; the Do-It-Yourself Manual” and “It Is Easy Being Green, simple steps to help your business help the world”. I was invited to be a part author of “Secrets of Top Business Builders Exposed” because the businesses I work with grow and become more profitable. Through my books, consultancy and speaking I have and am helping people to make a difference to the environment.
My efforts have been rewarded with many awards including: South Australian FarmBis Award for Distance learning/WWW/e-learning 2008 and finalist in most of the FarmBis categories, The Seafood Training Award for Training Excellence 2007; Finalist of the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Award; Enterprising Women Recognition of Achievement Award; The Commonwealth Post Graduate Award – scholarship, and was a finalist in the Galley awards for 2008.
