Please help me. I really want to understand this
Surveys show that over 90% of Australians want to buy from environmentally friendly businesses and services and 69% say they are even prepared to pay more and they do want to know environmental claims are true. Yet a recent Bank SA survey showed that only 44% of business owners believe these figures and a much lower 13% have any form of environmental certification.
My question is WHY. It looks logical to have the environmental credentials that customers are looking for.
I would really appreciate it if you could tell me your reasons why you are one of the 87% without environmental certification. I can make guesses but I would love you to email or SMS 0416 905 109 your reasons. There are absolutely no strings attached to sending me a quick email of SMS and I certainly won’t be recording who told me what. I am simply asking for your help please.
The Bank SA survey also found that 69% of business owners and 68% of consumers preferred direct or voluntary action – rather than an enforced ETS – to cut carbon emissions by 5% by 2020.
Other results showed that consumers have:
• embraced targets for mains water conservation,
• the plastic bag ban
• bottled water consumption cuts,
• But they reject change in areas that affect quality of life, as shown by a reported rise in power consumption for air-conditioning.
Energy for heating and Cooling figures:
• 39% are using more energy for cooling and heating,
• 35% said they had not changed their usage over the past five years and
• 26% reported reducing their usage.
