Concerns about Carbon Capture

I have concerns about carbon capture and storage because it is potentially very dangerous.  From what I can understand, the carbon dioxide is stored deep underground which sounds great until you start to think about the multitude of fissures in the rock that the carbon dioxide may travel down so that it ends up somewhere totally different.

The serious problem is that if the carbon dioxide escaped, perhaps as the result of an earth tremor, it could re-emerge above ground and because it is heavier than air would travel horizontally killing every air breathing animal or person in its path because we cannot breathe this gas.

The logical answer is to have policies in place to encourage environmental sustainability and the use of renewable energy.

We really need a much greater awareness of the fact that business can go save money by going green and green business is good business.  I help business to go green and implement ISO 14001 environmental management systems either by joining online group training courses or by using my Do-It-Yourself ISO 14001 training system.  Either way you will find you have access to an award winning system and lots of back up support

Let’s just reduce our carbon footprint and develop good energy management instead of simply continuing to pollute then trying to hide the pollution.
